Hello, readers! As soon as I finished P.S. I Still Love You, I picked up Always and Forever, Lara Jean. The end of P.S. wrapped everything up nicely, but I am SO glad Jenny Han decided to make this a trilogy so we could get this last book. It is definitely in my top 10 reads for this year.

Plot
Lara Jean is having the best senior year. And there’s still so much to look forward to: a class trip to New York City, prom with her boyfriend Peter, Beach Week after graduation, and her dad’s wedding to Ms. Rothschild. Then she’ll be off to college with Peter, at a school close enough for her to come home and bake chocolate chip cookies on the weekends.
Life couldn’t be more perfect!
At least, that’s what Lara Jean thinks…until she gets some unexpected news.
Now the girl who dreads change must rethink all her plans—but when your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to?
Review
In the final book of the trilogy, Lara Jean is waiting to hear from colleges. Peter has already committed to UVA, and Lara Jean is hoping to get an acceptance letter any day. In true YA contemporary fashion, Lara Jean is not accepted to the same school as Peter. That would have been too nice and clean of a finale!
Instead, Lara Jean is accepted to another school and plans to sail through a year there and then transfer to Peter’s school for sophomore year. But of course that would have still been too nice of an ending for our favorite couple. Lara Jean and Peter struggle in their relationship, as always, but for once, there is no third party causing problems.
I thoroughly enjoyed this final installment. I felt every heartbreak and disappointment right along with Lara Jean and Peter. I loved reminiscing about my own senior year with Lara Jean-saying goodbye to friends, prom (that prom chapter!! ALL THE FEELS), the unknown and excitement of life beyond high school. I felt like I was 17 again while reading this book!
The best part of this story was that Lara Jean found her own way and her own place in the world. I was concerned, like everyone else in her life, when she was making a major decision based on her relationship with Peter. But when she discovered that maybe the best place for her was not what was best or easiest for her and Peter, I was cheering our little mousy Lara Jean on! The character development over the course of this trilogy was phenomenal. No one can write like Jenny Han, and she is, for me, the queen of YA contemporary.
Final Thoughts
WE NEED MORE. I would adore another trilogy about Lara Jean and Peter in college. Does Peter transfer? Does Lara Jean transfer? WHAT HAPPENS!? I don’t think I’ve ever shipped a couple like Lara Jean and Peter. But also, more Kitty, please. I found her obnoxious in the first book, but she was the comic relief in the other books. I especially loved her in the final book.
I never cry while reading books, but I ugly cried my way through the last chapters of Always and Forever, Lara Jean. I loved this trilogy so much, and I know I will revisit it often because it is such an innocent, beautiful story.
