It’s finally happening. I am adding Aardvark Book Club Predictions posts to my blog in 2024!
Aardvark Book Club exploded in 2023 and honestly, I feel like they had the best selections.
This book subscription box offers a variety of genres from new and popular authors. There is always at least one book in their picks that I’ve never even heard of before, which is always impressive since I do a lot of research for my blog posts.
Predicting Aardvark Book Club’s monthly picks will be a challenge because they do have picks from previous months more often than early releases right now. I do think this will change in the future though!
The only issue I have with my own predictions is the late January release dates. I have not kept track of the early releases from Aardvark Book Club each month, so this is something I will be looking at more closely throughout the year so I can hopefully be more accurate in my predictions!
If you aren’t familiar with Aardvark Book Club, you can check out my full review of this subscription service. The basic idea is Aardvark Book Club chooses five books from different genres every month and members can choose their pick when the books go live. You can also add on up to two more books for only $9.99 each.
If you don’t like any of the picks, you can choose to skip and save your credit for the next month, which is honestly the best part of this service to me. I don’t like subscription boxes that only offer one book selection that you don’t know ahead of time. If you are interested in trying Aardvark Book Club, you can use my code READWITHALLISON4 when you checkout at this link to get your first book for only $4!
As usual, these are just my opinions and my predictions. It is fine if you disagree or think the predictions are terrible-we all have different reading tastes. Please remember to be kind in comments or messages because we are all readers with different tastes!

Thriller/Mystery Predictions
The Night of the Storm by Nishita Parekh
Release Date: January 16, 2024
Debut Author
From debut author Nishita Parekh, a fresh take on the classic locked-room thriller, about a multigenerational Indian American family marooned in a house with a murderer during Hurricane Harvey.
Why I Think It Could Be a Pick
Aardvark Book Club does a fantastic job of picking debut authors and diverse stories. They also seem to lean more to mystery books than thrillers. Since this is a locked room mystery, I feel like it’s the perfect thriller pick for Aardvark in January!
Rabbit Hole by Kate Brody
Release Date: January 2, 2024
Debut Author
A twisty, sexy debut exploring the dark side of true crime fandom and the blurry lines of female friendship, perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn, My Favorite Murder, and Fleabag.
Conspiracy theories from Reddit seduce a disaster-prone woman into an obsession with solving her older sister’s cold-case disappearance.
Why I Think It Could Be a Pick
Honestly I included this book because the cover screams Aardvark Book Club! It is also a debut author, so I think it is also a likely pick.
Romance Predications
Canadian Boyfriend by Jenny Holiday
Release date: January 30, 2024
Fate brings together a ballet teacher and a hockey player in this big-hearted novel about second chances and taking risks by the bestselling author Entertainment Weekly calls the “master of witty banter.”
Why I Think It Could Be a Pick
Honestly I don’t have a good reason for this one other than the cover (again).
Literary Fiction Predictions
Come & Get It by Kiley Reid
Release date: January 30, 2024
From the celebrated New York Times bestselling author of Such a Fun Age comes a fresh and provocative story about a residential assistant and her messy entanglement with a professor and three unruly students.
Why I Think It Could Be a Pick
This is another book whose cover screams Aardvark Book Club to me!
Contemporary Fiction Predictions
Clover Hendry’s Day Off by Beth Morrey
Release date: January 30, 2024
Repeat Author, book in a series
A hilarious and empowering perimenopausal Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, about Clover Hendry, 46, and the day she decides to stop keeping the plates spinning, say F@#! it all, and finally get hers.
Why I Think It Could Be a Pick
Aardvark often chooses contemporary fiction books with a heartwarming story that also leans to humor. This book seems to check both of those boxes!
Historical Fiction Prediction
Picasso’s Lovers by Jeanne Mackin
Release date: January 23, 2024
A tangled and vivid portrait of the women caught in Picasso’s charismatic orbit through the affairs, the scandals, and the art—only this time, they hold the brush.
Why I Think It Could Be a Pick
Aardvark tends to pick a variety of events in historical fiction, and these story seems perfect for their picks!

Picasso’s book sounds great! These are fun, and thank you for introducing me to books that I didn’t know were coming out (I loved Such a Fun Age, so I’ll plan to read the authors next book no matter if its Aardvark or not!). Thanks for a fun prediction post!
